A little taste of Italy, right here in Clayton. Mr. Balock, the owner, is an experienced Italian Chef. He chose Flowers Crossroads because he saw a need for an Italian restaurant in Flowers and opening his doors in a shopping center anchored by Harris Teeter was certainly a plus. La Cucina is offering a limited Special: 1 Extra Large one topping pizza with garlic knots for $18.99

Rae has been working in the accounting department of River Dell office in Flowers Plantation since October 2014. She was born and raised in Johnston County where she completed her high school education before going to NC State University where she earned her bachelor of science degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science. During her tenure, she has witnessed firsthand how Flowers Plantation, as a community, has expanded with quality residential neighborhoods and high end commercial retail centers. We commend her for her continued service for Flowers Plantation.
Johnston County Commissioners have approved a plan to extend sewer service to a new elementary school being built in northern Johnston County. The school site is on Lynch Road off Highway 42 East. There is no public sewer service in the immediate area. Commissioners, Johnston County Public Schools and the NC Department of Transportation have approved a plan to design and extend a 6 inch sewer line from Highway 42 in the vicinity of the Tuscany subdivision to the school property on Lynch Road. The total cost is $960,215. The NC DOT has agreed to allow the project contractor for the Highway 42 East widening project to complete the additional work. The contractor is already doing water and sewer main relocation and upsizing some of the lines as part of the road construction work. Johnston County will pay for the sewer extension cost with funds from a 2018 school bond referendum. Wimco Corporation of Washington, NC was awarded a $22,270,900 contract on March 10, 2020 to construct the new school. The school will open to students in August 2021. It will have a capacity of 886 students and will help relieve overcrowding at three other elementary schools in the area. No name has been assigned to the new elementary school.
