JULY 30 - NEWSLETTER
We have officially opened our NEW Visitor Center at the historic Dr. Watson Inn! The Dr. Watson Inn is a colonial-style structure originally built in the 1700s, and we know that our guests and visitors alike will enjoy visiting this historic jewel of Johnston County.

We have sales literature at our Visitor Center, and we will be happy to welcome you at the front door and answer your questions, or you may call us at 919-553-1984.
UNC Primary Care and UNC Urgent Care located at Flowers Plantation is pleased to begin welcoming back patients. The practices, which opened in February, closed temporarily during coronavirus (COVID-19) to serve as one of UNC Health’s Respiratory Diagnostic Centers.
The primary care practice will see patients in person with an option for virtual appointments, when possible. Patients are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance for urgent care services by visiting www.uncpn.com. The location will continue to provide Respiratory Diagnostic Center services and has implemented many protocols to keep patients safe and healthy:
  • When patients arrive for an appointment, they should call the practice and wait in their car. A member of the care team will meet the patient at their car, provide a mask and escort them directly to the exam room.
    • UNC Primary Care at Flowers: 984-215-5040
    • UNC Urgent Care at Flowers: 984-215-5050
    • Respiratory Diagnostic Center (RDC): 984-215-5577
  • Patients with respiratory symptoms will be seen in a designated isolation area with HEPA filters and additional protection measures.
  • Each care team member will only interact with patients in their practice. For example, a nurse in primary care wouldn’t interact with a patient in urgent care or the Respiratory Diagnostic Center.
  • All patients are screened prior to their visit and again when they arrive for their appointment. Patients are required to wear a mask.
  • The practices are limiting visitors to appointments. If a caregiver must attend an appointment with the patient, the visitor is also screened and required to wear a mask.
  • The practices are conducting frequent cleaning. Exam rooms are cleaned between every patient and the practice undergoes thorough cleaning daily.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Private sector and government officials are in the process of designing a new “FAST” regional transit network for the Triangle region but a new study says RTP area commuters already have one of the best commutes in the US.

No. 3, in fact, says Teletrac Navman, a provider of fleet management and other transportation related software and services.

While Triangle commuters – at least in the days before COVID-19 led to a dramatic easing of traffic conditions with many people working at home or having lost jobs – might have a difficult time believing traffic really isn’t that bad (in context), Teletrac Navman says the data it studied means the region ranks well in terms of time spent commuting, traffic fatalities, and time lost to driving to and from work.

Only Salt Lake City and Las Vegas had better scores than Raleigh-Durham in the study which measured the top 50 metro areas across the country based on a variety of metrics.

Charlotte, meanwhile, ranked 22nd.
